I suffered a partial flood event during Hurricane Ian.
I am the 2nd owner of this car ( which I absolutely love) , which only has 123,000 miles.
This car has all power options - sunroof, antenna, o/d, cd changer under passenger seat.
I have checked the oil ( via d/s) - no visible water.
Air intake is dry and water free.
This car was NOT driven during storm and security alarm went off during height of storm, but I did not open the vehicle or try to start it.
the car has not moved since the event, although I have been emptying out water from carpets, spare tire well .
I noticed some water from under the exhaust area of the catalytic converter after flood waters receded and parking lot dried out.
I need your professional input to get my vehicle running again. Local mech’s have been swamped, and AAA will not jump start - because of poss water infusion.
again- no apparent upper cylinder or oil supply water mix is visible.
I had a neighbor help with a jump start attempt, and after starting fluid use the engine still only cranked over.
I need help/ suggestions. I have some tools and minor “skills” but no secure area for extended repair attempts. Step
First, contact your insurance to see if you have any coverage, just in case you end up spending money on the repairs. About running the car, tow it to a professional to check the car before trying to start it.
security alarm went off during height of storm, but I did not open the vehicle or try to start
So the 12V wasn't removed and the electronics had power when they have gotten flooded, correct?
I need help/ suggestions
Connect an OBDII scanner, turn the key to position II and see if you can read codes and access live data.
Update as far as the results.
