Instant Radiator Fluid Change

Hi - I live in a condo (without a garage anymore) so i don't change my own oil anymore (too messy, not worth the difference in cost and I dont think I do any better on that than the instant oil change shops). I do change my own transmission fluid every 5 years or so. But, here is my question - instant radiator fluid changes? Are they of decent quality or should I do it the old fashioned way myself. Difference in price isn't worth it to me, but what about difference in quality (burping the system, etc.)....any thoughts on this? Thanks - this site has never steered me wrong and I appreciate it!

Do you strip out oil drain plugs? Use the wrong oil filters? Drop cars into the pit. Drain the wrong oil, and other things that destroy engines?

I would be very surprised if you weren't better.  You do not go to quick lube places and expect "quality". Find an experienced mechanic.

Maybe if you can describe what that is. But if it means leaving half the old coolant in there, then obviously it's a bad idea.

@imperator -- oh man, I never realized how bad they can be. I just assumed drain oil, change filter, replace oil....for people who do it all day---cannot mess that up. I guess one can. Wow.

Instant Radiator Fluid Change

Just an advertising gimmick use by chain shops.

Depends on the mechanic doing the flush. Your better mechanics aren't employed by chain shops.

should I do it the old fashioned way myself.

If you'd rather not fool with it yourself, take it to an experienced and competent mechanic
