I had AAA replace my car battery 2 1/2 months ago. When I tried to start the car then, there was no sound. The battery was 4 years old, 3 year life. I was told the battery was still good but decided to replace it. The battery connections were replaced.
This morning 9/15, after running an errand, when I tried to start the car, there was no sound. After about 10 min., I tried to start the car, but there was not enough power to start the engine. Waited another 5 minutes and the car started, but it didn't seem to start as quickly. Drove the car for about 5 miles. Was able to start the car but doesn't seem like the car starts as quickly as it used to.
The alternator was changed 3/21.
I don't think the battery connections are loose. Do you know what else needs to be checked?
car is 2007 Toyota Corolla ce, mileage 175,750, automatic
Thank you
Make sure the battery connections are clean of corrosion. You said you replaced the battery connections, do you mean the terminals that connect directly to the battery?
Check the positive and negative cables as best you can, to make sure they have not been damaged or anything, also make sure the new battery connections are okay, though it sounds like you did that.
What brand alternator did you replace it with a few years ago? New or reman?
Might want to have the alternator checked, I think most auto parts places will do that.
