Hello Scotty Camden here, I’m looking at purchasing a 1977 Chrysler cordoba. It has 89000 km on it, a 360 motor. There asking 5000$ for it, I’m just curious to as if it’s a reliable vehicle that’s simple to work on. I don’t mind putting in a little bit of work, so that it’s road worthy. Thanks

For a daily driver, no. For a weekend project/toy, maybe. If cars that old are tested for emissions in your area that can be a real challenge on these old barges. Bear in mind most mechanics today won't work on anything that old.

I agree, it would be a hobby car but not a good daily. WOuld be interesting to see at "Cars and Coffee" or local show if it were restored. But I doubt it would be collectible.

I'd buy it if it had a manual transmission. And even then it's a gamble because it's old. The thing with those old cars is as chuck mentioned, the emissions testing will make it a nuisance to get it registered. Even if it mechanically sound, I'd still get a good mechanic to check it first.

As far as I know those all came with automatic transmissions. We're talking about a 3-speed Torqueflite so much simpler to overhaul if needed than today's transmissions.
