Is a scion still worth buying

Hey there. Still looking into used cars and I came across a scion something (don’t really remember but not relevant to my question) I know that Scion is no longer an active brand but if I remember correctly, their parent company was Toyota. Would a scion purchase that’s in good shape still be an ok purchase and reliable/easy to repair or is it a bad idea?

Scion is a Toyota sold under another name. Just avoid those with the 2.4L 2AZ-FE oil-burning engine. And, of course, have a good mechanic give any vehicle you want to buy a thorough inspection before purchase.

I still see some Scion XB's made from 2004-2006 driving around. I had a 2004, and it was a great little car.

It had a weak 1.5l motor, but very reliable. Toyota skimped on things like sound insulation, and they put a rather wimpy AC in it, as it could barely keep up in the deep south.

Overall, it did just as good as any other Toyota I have had.

Scion's are fine, especially if you are looking for basic transportation.
