Hey Scotty!
I have been watching your videos for a while now and you have been a huge inspiration. I am now doing all of the basic maintenance on my daily vehicle (a 2018 Toyota Tacoma) but want to get some experience doing more major maintenance and some modifications without the risk and expense of doing it on the car I depend on for work and day to day life.
I really like the idea of getting an older, smaller, and sportier car that I can cut my mechanical teeth on and have fun driving around on the weekends. From what I have found the NA Miata (1989-1997) is well loved and affordable. Do you think this would be a good first project car for me? If so, are there any years that I should avoid?
Thanks!
They are pretty simple to work on, but just realize they are older so there is likely to be a considerable amount of parts needed and work to be done.
