Greetings,
A little history of myself, I have somehow been attracted to purchasing “unreliable vehicles,” ever since my first Volkswagen Jetta GLI. I moved from there to a CLA45 AMG, then an Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti Sport, and now a 2017 Jaguar XF X260.
I only bought the jaguar because in 2021, a dealership was selling it for $30,000 OTD with 8,000 miles and CPO with free maintenance until end of 2024, I thought it was a no brainer manly because my vehicle was totaled.
however, now with 56,000 miles my car has all of these issues, for example the Tire light would go off intermittently, albeit replacing, the transmission shifts weird it would jerk forward on random occasions and such. I asked the dealership, however they stated they will NOT work on transmissions due to the complexity and fear of actually ruining my transmission lol.
im worried about the cost of maintenance after the warranty expires, and I recently was offered $24,000 by CarMax for the vehicle which I’m heavily considering trading it in for a Mazda Miata. What are your thoughts? Should I continue the Jaguar ownership until the car breaks which I presume in the next three years, or go towards the new Miata Hard tops?
cheers!
Get out of it.
I would take the money and run!
You paid $30,000 before and now being offered $24,000? Take it! Get rid of that money pit car while you have a chance.
