I have an ‘03 corolla with 211k miles. I have noticed that between 3rd and 4th gear when I am merging on the highway with a moderate to heavy throttle it sometimes doesn’t shift until 3100 or 3300 rpms. If I am driving conservatively, like I normally do, it shifts like a dream. However, I’m just nervous if this means my gears are wearing out. I usually let off the gas slightly if it ever gets close to 3000 rpms when trying to shift and it shifts just fine. My fluid is clean and filled, and all other gears shift perfect. It’s a 4 speed with overdrive.
