Hey Scotty, my name is Hudson
I drive a 2004 crew cab Chevy 2500 6.0L (gasoline) engine. It’s only got 178,000 miles on it. I was thinking about trading after my throttle body cracked and it needed a fuel pump replacement for the third time! Within a year owning the truck! I was thinking of getting something newer. Should do that or keep it. As the saying goes “Oldie Goldie”. But “newer isn’t always better.” Thank you!
If I liked it, and it was still in good shape, then I would just keep driving it.
Depends on how much you get.
I personally never buy brand new, though I know you just said newer. I love the new look of the silverados front end. If your gonna go for a newer Chevy 2500, go for the 2020. Better reliability and better overall. Click on image to enlarge.
In fact the 2020 has got some pretty bulletproof ratings except the power equipment and in car electronics are below average. Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, remote engine start, alarm or security system. Looks like most of those problems are from the body control module and/or fuses. I doubt they'll all go wrong at once. sounds like pretty minor fixes
yeah, yeah. We'll see...
This year 3/4 ton had one of the best motors ever made, the LQ4 or LQ9. I would keep it and fix it.
