Hey Scotty,

Thank you for all the information that you provide on your channel! I saw the video that you made on the Lexus SC430 and was taken by it's luxurious and stylish aesthetic. I am currently trying to find a good cheap car for my son as he is turning 17 very soon! I saw this Lexus SC430 on Car Guru and wanted to know if it was a smart idea to buy this car. It has about 250K miles and I was able to negotiate the car down to $3,000. The Solara, the Toyota version of this car, is about $1,000 cheaper, but it is obviously not as stylish. Anyways, could you please take a look at this car and let me know if this car is good. While looking at the car, please don't take price into consideration. Just please advice me based off of the reliability of the car and the maximum amount of miles it will go.

Thanks,

It is way overpriced. 3 grand is also expensive. The car is $4,234 above market which means the real world value is around 1000 bucks. I would not pay that much for a car with 250k miles. If you do want it, have an independent mechanic check it out and make sure it is in good mechanical condition.

It was originally listed for 8 grand and you negotiated to 3000 bucks? Seems fishy...

I don’t think an old Lexus is a good first car because the parts on that can be expensive & that defeats the purpose of a cheap first car.

Look at regular Toyotas & Hondas instead. Much much cheaper to fix!

Also I would like to point out it is a V8 with 250k miles and is a fleet vehicle. I looked and it was originally listed for 8000 dollars and he negotiated for 3000 dollars. The real world value even on cargurus it says it is less than 1000 dollars.
