Not launching the car from a stop, but flooring the gas for overtaking and merging to a highway, is it damaging for the transmission or engine?

I don't do it often, i don't commute out of city, i actually take good care of my car, mazda 3 automatic 2000cc 165 hp, if matters.

No. It was designed into the car for you to use.

it's called a down-shift.
Again, it was designed to be used for passing and any time you need quick acceleration.
Yes, accelerating quickly uses more fuel.
If you drive like a normal person, then you don't have to worry.
If you're flooring it everywhere, and downshifting 200 times a day, then yes it will probably wear out the transmission quicker.

It's not going to break it right away, the manufacturers designed it to downshift when the throttle reaches a certain threshold. I wouldn't do it constantly, it wears things out prematurely and puts undue stress on the internal clutches and bands inside the transmission.

Every once in a while it’s actually good for the car. If you baby all the time you build up carbon and shortens the life of the engine. Even your car has to stretch its legs every once in a while

doesn't it shortens the life or the tranny/engine, only chews up fuel?

does it make the oil or parts wear out faster?

i mean if i'll drive the car and constantly do kickdowns it will do damage
