Is my engine Flex Fuel Capable or not

Scotty,

I have a 2012 Chevy Captiva Sport with the 3.0L V-6 engine it it. I've noticed when getting my car registered in Iowa, that my title says that my engine fuel type says Flex Fuel, but when I look it up online, I'm being told that it's not. I've even inquired with Chevrolet, but I don't think that they even know. It doesn't have the yellow fuel cap and there aren't any stickers anywhere on the body stating that it's flex fuel either, but my VIN triggers it on my title and when I register it on auto part sites like Autozone and O'Rielly. How do I find out about this?

Thanks,

Sometimes they put those stickers in weird places. My 1999 Ranger came up as flex fuel capable based on the VIN as well. I had no clue that was a thing back then. I didn't see a flex fuel sticker anywhere on the truck until a few months ago. I noticed the inside of the gas door has a sticker that says Ethanol or Unleaded Gasoline Only. You may have overlooked the sticker.

Call the GM dealership with your VIN and they'll be able to tell you that.

I'll bet it's on a sticker somewhere on your car though
