Is my engine messed up?!?!

I drive a 2017 Subaru forester with the turbo boxer engine. 90k miles. My Subaru dealer stripped the oil pan during an oil change. Used an aftermarket oil plug and looks like air wrenched it in (found out while getting oil change at another Subaru dealership). They plugged it. I drove back to my local dealer and they put in new oil pan. Smelled burnt oil day1. Drove 260 miles before realizing not a drop of oil on the dipstick, light smoke rose when opening hood (day4). Low oil light never came on, no engine overheat light came on. Sounded like a Diesel engine when I pulled over at gas station due to smoke coming from hood.  My dealership fixing now. Is my engine ruined? What should I do?

thank-you so much. I enjoy your videos!

Your engine is now shot.  Sue the dealer for a new one.

My dealership fixing now

yeah I can imagine how they "fix" things when they can't even get an oil change right. What exactly are they fixing?

Is my engine ruined?

the engine would need to be torn apart and meticulously inspected and measured (galling in the bearings etc) to make that determination. I highly doubt that anybody wants to pay for that. The right thing to do would be for them to give you a new engine. The only way you'll get that is if you fight, and if you're determined. And even if they do , it's pretty well guaranteed that they'll screw up the install.  I don't envy your position. Let it be a learning experience.

They are replacing the turbo line. That’s where the oil was leaking from. That’s what they are saying.

Sounds like a blatant lie to me if the problem was a stripped oil drain plug.

The dealer is flat out lying. Go for the throat.

Yes, they messed up your engine but good. Yeah, they'll "fix" it and will tell you that all the clattering and knocking when they get done is "normal". You need a replacement engine, or that one rebuilt. If those jokers can't even do an oil change correctly the chances of them pulling off an engine rebuild is essentially zero.

Almost definitely yes.

After they’re done with it: Check dry and wet compression, monitor oil consumption and check for abnormal noises. I’d also inspect the turbocharger for signs of damage.

If compression is low, eats oil, has valve train noises or knocking or anything else out of the norm - go and demand further repair (probably in the form of an engine replacement)
