Is the Haynes manual accurate?

Hi from GA!

I have a 4 cyl 97 Camry and was researching some torque numbers, specifically the spark plug tube nuts on the cover. One YouTube guy said hand tighten, another youtuber said 17 ftlbs and the Haynes manual says 33ftlbs! Which do you think is correct?

Many thanks!

@graycircles
You question the Haynes Manual because of what people say on YouTube? Why not question the guys on YouTube?

It seems the "hand tighten" you found was not a complete instruction. To complete is to "Install the new plug finger tight, and complete the installation with a torque wrench.". Maybe the end was to follow plug specs. That can change by maker.

Here is one:

I question everything until I can find a consistency.

I don't know everything, but over the years I've found a good number of inconsistencies on Haynes manuals.

Mine isn't. 2015 Ford F-150 5.0L, found lots of mistakes. Better than nothing ?
