Is there a way to change my own transmission fluid in a 2015 Hyundai Tuscon?

Hello Scotty, I've been watching your channel for about 2 yrs and I love it, keep up the great work.   I am a single mom/grandmother and I don't know much aboout cars but I've been checking my fluid levels for years and have owned many cars.  I have to say I loved my Tuscon until this...   I've had my car for 2 years and I've put 30,000 miles on it.  It now has 104k and it isn't shifting gears as smoothly as it used to.  I searched but couldn't find the dipstick, so I called a mechanic to get the fluid checked and he said that only a dealer can do it.  Long story short they quoted me $361 to check AND change my fluid, that's just ridiculous!  Is there any way around this?  Can I do this myself?  Thank you for taking the tiime to read and reply.

I would find a good mechanic to do it correctly. The fluid should be inspected before replacing, so you won't have issues afterward.

It now has 104k and it isn't shifting gears as smoothly as it used to.

If post the ATF change, it continues to do this (or gets worse), consider selling this vehicle for a RAV4/CR-V because the Hyundais (and Kias) usually tend to fall apart >100,000 miles.

You don’t want to get too attached to a potential moneypit..

Thank you, I am definately considering it.

That is a ridiculous amount.  Find another honest mechanic.

It sure is, thanks for the reply.

Not sure about a 2015 Tuscon, but did a drain/refill on a 2013 Hyundai Santa fe Sport 2.0T. Was pretty straight forward. Just "measure" accurately what you drain out and refill back with Factory fluid.
