Did anyone ever own a 1st gen Tundra. Are they really big pickups that are hard to drive. Is the deal below a good one?

- Those were excellent trucks that can last forever. Like the Tacoma, you will pay through the nose for a used Tundra.
Looks decent, wouldn’t pay even close to what he’s asking.
"It's stuck in 4WD, I was told t needs a 4WD Actuator."
As far as I know, using 4wd on the road is dangerous, and it also harms some of the components
Why is he not fixing it?
Its a V8 and they tend to be expensive when it comes to maintenance and repairs
I don't think this is a good first truck, especially for the price.
Kerem, does this truck sound good: https://www.carfax.com/vehicle/5TEUU42N95Z061036
Much better, but there are no images. It being up north, you would really want to check for rust.
I'm not sure if the transmission is in good shape. The first thing done to it was at 180k miles where they flushed the tranny fluid... There may be some issues. I'd ask for some pictures.
You think the 5 speed autos are bad trannys in the 05 taco's?
Honestly no idea, don't have any experience.
But, Tacoma transmissions were known to be bulletproof back then.
But even a good transmission needs care. If they didn't drain and fill the fluid until 180k miles, and then failed to that and just flushed it, it may have caused more problems.
I guess your right. My dad is used to buying his used cars with bad transmissions and I hope he didn't pass the genes on to me. His 04 civic's broke at 90k and his 02 dodge caravan broke at 105k.
