Hey there,
I have a 2018 Mazda CX-5 AWD with the 2.5L NA engine. When I'm accelerating from a complete stop, there is sometimes a huge delay between hitting the throttle and the car actually going forward; once the transmission engages, it lunges forward. Doesn't happen all the time.
However, when it is in Sport mode, the CX-5 has no problem accelerating and the throttle response it 10x more linear; but it holds the gears too much and destroys my gas mileage. I tried resetting the Transmission Control Module to start the computer's learning, but it only helped for a few days.
What do you think is the issue?
How many miles on it? Among the first questions asked on this page. When did you last change out the trans fluid and filter? Ever? Any codes showing? We really need a lot more and better information to try and help.
