Just bought a 2014 maxima with only 9500 miles.
I have always loved the ride and the look of the gen 7 maxima. I recently found a 9500 miles maxima and could not be happier. I might take a long road trip to another state here and there but other than that its easy driving and never push the car. So my question is outside of doing the regular oil change/tire rotation what is the best advice for me to keep this gen 7 maxima running for years to come?
It is hard to believe that a normal 8 years old car only has 9500 miles on it. First, make sure the mileage is legit. You can use Carfax for that purpose. Also, make sure your mechanic checks the car before putting down any serious money. If you ended up buying that car, follow the maintenance section per the car owner' manual and change the CVT fluid every 30-40k miles.
I couldnt belive it either until i saw the carfax and drove 2 hours to see it. Had it checked out by nissan and everything is still very new. Looks like out of the factory. Even still i still worry about the CVT. I can get a warranty with CNA for like 60000 miles for 1k bumper to bumper.
Car is actually still on there. Link below
Mileage looks legit.
Unfortunately, the 2014 Altima is listed in the worst five vehicles that Nissan made on carcomplaints.com
So I would look into why that is. Hopefully the issues can be addressed, and if not then consider flipping the car soon.
I think if you search Scotty's youtube channel, you'll find he doesn't have nice things to say about Altimas.

oops my bad!
2014 Maxima looks ok at 1st glance, but do your research anyway. look up recalls and bulletins.
Service the CVT often.

I would not trust Carfax for any information. Let me see service receipts with date and mileage information. And I wouldn't ever spend $40 for a Carfax report. I'll spend that $40 for half a tank of gas!
depends if the carfax includes title and inspection history.
True, but I'd still go for the half tank.
Carfax was free from dealer website. Car is actually still on there. Link below. They said they bought it from a charity auction. They did give me a 100 day or 3k warranty.

thank you. i took it to Nissan and they said it was like new but I still got my oil changed. the service tech told me he loves that maxima body style and if he had that car he would follow the maintenance schedule. Not sure if he is just a maxima fan like more or trying to get money (probably both)
