I have a 2013 Dodge avenger 2.4 SE 33,000 MI automatic. It's loading up, cutting out, stalling. It won't start for a few minutes afterwards. And no codes are being pulled.and it is a PZEV vehicle. What can I do? it's been going on for a year now. What is my next test?

Are you saying it won't idle, or it cuts out when driving? Have you done any of the following - check plugs, air filter, spray-clean throttle body/MAF, check fuel pump output/pressure? My gut tells me it is probably a fuel problem, as most of the other problems throw a code.

Find a good independent diagnostic shop, one that will guarantee that their solution will fix the problem. Stay away from folks who will say "maybe" as they throw parts at it.

This problem could be a number of things, from a troublesome crankshaft sensor to debris in the balance shaft bearings to software that needs an update. (All of these are mentioned @ carcomplaints.com).

Diagnosis is key.

Agree.  Could be lots of things.

Locate the MAF sensor.  Clean it with MAF sensor cleaner.

Then follow the hose from the MAF sensor to the intake.  Make sure everything is attached and the hose is not cracked (often on the bottom).

Look for ground wires bolted to the chassis.  Loosen and clean them up to make sure there is good contact.

And of course, be sure the battery terminals are clean and tightened properly.  Have your battery and alternator tested.  Low voltage can cause all those problems. Autozone and others will test for free.
