Hello, Scotty I have a 2014 Toyota Highlander se 6V, FWD with 147,678 miles on it. It recently broke down and I was told I need a new transmission. I really like my car and i got it about 8 months ago. If I fix the transmission should I keep it or sell it? I was driving when suddenly the car wouldn’t move when I pressed the gas it runs and revs but doesn’t move.
First of all who told you that it needs a new transmission? I mean dealership or your trusted independent mechanic? If it was the second case how much did they quote you for it? I know it won't be cheap to fix so first of all see if it's even worth to fix it or not. If you decided to fix it then if that was the only issue with it keep it after spending on a new transmission unless you can sell it for a good price and get something new if that's what you want to do. It really all comes down to the math of what is worth doing.
