Hey Scotty, I was thinking about adding a key fob to my 2019 Chevy Colorado LS. It's a base model and didn't come with one from the dealership. I saw something about having to install a kit to add a key fob and saw someone add a key fob with some device off Ebay. I just want the convenience of unlocking the truck from a distance.

That's a sure way to introduce new electrical problems that you don't want.
If it wasn't put in when it was built, don't mess with it. Especially with garbage from fleabay.

You can find videos on YouTube how to do it but it's generally not recommended to mess with it unless you really know what you're doing

Well if you want to spend the top dollars of a professionally done job and high quality parts I'm sure you'll be able to find someone to do it for you, but just for unlocking from a distance and with parts from Ebay like everyone else said it's a recipe for electrical issues.

That's what I'm saying. I know its a base model but for the price I'd expect it. The truck is my parents. I had a 17 Spark and when they told me they were gonna buy a new car I told them to not buy a Chevy. They're overpriced and not built very well.
