My kia cerato 2015 w/160,000 km suddenly got EPS Failure and it disappeared after I unplugged the battery for a minute, now after washing the car EPS light and Check engine light turned on, the RPMs dropped to 0 even though the engine is running and I am revving it, same with fuel getting to 0 even though it has around half tank, I couldn't move the automatic gear without pressing the unlock button.
I tried to test using an OBDII and got these error codes:
U0155 CAN communication error with cluster
C161600 CAN Bus off (C-CAN)
C1611 CAN Timeout EMS
I went to a local car repair guy and he tried few stuff with the wires and fuses, the problem got worse and it comes back every 5 minutes.

You washed the car and these issues appeared. Somehow, water got inside the electronics.
EPS failure means you likely need to replace the electric power steering pump but you need to scan it for codes and go from there.
