The Lexus IS can be very good vehicle. The one you are considering is the hybrid variant which combines the V6 gasoline engine with an electric motor. Now for a hybrid they are excellent cars but hybrids in general will be more costly long term than a traditional gasoline version. I wouldn't pay $20,000 for one if you don't need a hybrid which I doubt you do I would look into a regular gasoline version and pay less.

Here are some videos Scotty talks about Lexus:

Should I buy a Lexus or not buy one, and why did Scotty buy one?

The Lexus V6 engines are generally very reliable but if you want to keep the car any length of time over 10 years/150k miles it gets risky because of the hybrid components. If you are in the market for a hybrid, I'd definitely consider the IS300h. The question is, how long do you want to keep this car? And, is it worth it to buy a hybrid?

The car I saw is the 2.5 4cyl. Thats what my dealer says and I saw the engine its a 4cyl. The V6 should be the 250
And I want to keep it for like 3-4 years. Maybe do like 80k miles

80k isn't much for one of those.

How long do you plan to keep and how many miles do you want to get out of it (over its ownership life)?
