2005 rx330. 73k miles. Automatic. Nav system computer, climate controls, etc do not work at start up when it is very cold outside. Vehicle stays in the garage. System takes about 5 minutes to get going, then it works normally. Please advise - thank you!

This is probably not the answer you want to hear but we have a 2003 RX330 which does the same under very cold climate conditions as well.  It would be hard to project what exactly the problem is as the NAV system is very complext. Once started it must access the DVD NAV disk under near the spare tire, then Access GPS satellites then calculate your position for display. Now sometimes the Center display will show difficulty to show you its info as the LCD screen is slow or blanked due to the cold.  But at least it works so I do not tthink that you have any fatal problem - just a momentary problem due to the cold.  If you heated your garage I would think that all this would be resolved - Cheers!

Extreme cold and hot weather affect the computer systems and I don’t know if you can do too much about it since it is an intrinsic property of electronic systems. I like @Dion idea of heated garage.
