Greetings from Canada,
Scotty, I have a 2011 Honda Civic SE 4 door with an automatic transmission and less than 53,000 km (yes that's correct 53,000 km)
What do I have to worry about? My father seems to think that because it's 10 years old I should be thinking about buying a new one.
It's driven regularly and maintained impeccably, it's just that I live close to work.
That vehicle only has about 33,000 miles on it! No disrespect to your father, but he is wrong on this one. Keep that vehicle: 2011 was a good model year. And in this market, good luck finding a replacement (they are more expensive now) with uncertain history (if buying used). Be sure to change engine oil/filter every 5,000 miles or once a year (whichever comes first) and transmission fluid (drain and fill with filter change) every 40,000 miles to get the most life out of that powertrain. Speaking of which, I would change the transmission fluid now (since over 10+ years old). Still lots of life left as long as you maintain it.

That car is practically brand new. Keep it.
So in short your trying to sell a new car to get new car but more expensive one while trying to get rid of the current new car but willing to pay for more expensive new car ....why ?
Jokes aside keep that car
I have honda civic si from that gas 250000miles regularly mantain still running like new no major fortune spent
Except for new tires brake pads and rotors
