[Solved] Long Cranking when Hot

I have  a 2003 Ford F-150, 4.6L auto with 150K miles.  The issue I have not figure out and hope I can be pointed in the right direction is:

When the vehicle is at operating temperature AND it is hot outside (90's), the vehicle will crank for a long time and won't start BUT when I immediately try again, it starts fine.  It only does it when the two criteria's are met  (car hot and ambient temperature hot).

I replaced the crankshaft sensor, cleaned the MAP and throttle and ran injector cleaner.

Hi! Experienced something like that too! It was the fuel pump for us. Because a faulty fuel pump when hot, doesn't pump as well as it does when it's cold. Have it checked too!

Exactly what it was. Thank you

Thanks for posting back with the fix.
