Hi Scotty,
Greetings from New Zealand.
I am currently looking at 2008-2013 Toyota Alphard. There's an option of a 2.4L 2-AZFE with a CVT and a 3.5 V6 2-GRFE with a 6 Speed auto.
Will 2-AZFE be safe to buy if I look at later year models outside of the problematic 2007-2009 oil burning years?

I’d get the V6 for the Alphard.
I’m guessing these will be Japanese imports?
Don’t forget to have it thoroughly inspected by a professional mechanic, before purchase.

Yes! They are all used imports from Japan with mileage usually under 100,000kms.
I will have them inspected before purchase for sure. I agree, V6 will be a much safer option!.
