Loud downshifts, especially when braking and coasting downhill

Hey Scotty!

I drive a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze LT with about 65k miles on it. Recently I’ve been noticing some loud downshifts, particularly in gears 2-4. It’s most noticeable when I need to brake before making a turn, braking at highway speeds, and coasting down a hill. Any idea as to what this may be? I had someone look at my brakes, pads still have life in them and rotors slightly rusted. But the guy said he thinks the noise may be a transmission issue. Possibly transmission fluid needs changed? I’d love to know your opinion!

Failing transmission, assuming that's where the noise is coming from. Might also be a loose front end component or bearing. What kind of noise is it? Clunk? Whine? Grinding? Can you post a youtube video demonstrating the noise?

Possibly transmission fluid needs changed?

It's due for changing. However if the transmission has internal problems changing the fluid won't help.

Yes! Here is the link:

For context, I a coasting down a hill before I begin to brake. The noise is like a “humm humm humm” that aligns with tachometer showing my downshifts. Like I said previously, this only happens when coasting, going downhill, or braking. Let me know what you think.

REPOST BUT INCLUDED VIDEO LINK:

I drive a 2018 Chevrolet Cruze LT 6 speed automatic with about 65k miles on it. Recently I’ve been noticing some loud downshifts, particularly in gears 2-4. Don't repost things when discussing the same thing. Keep them in the same thread. This is part of the rules. https://carkiller.com/scottykilmer/notice/read-this-first/ Thanks.
