Maintaining a Car for a Long Period of Time

Hello,

I am 19, I somewhat recently bought a 4WD 2013 Toyota Tundra (Tundra Grade) CrewMax. I am enlisting in the US Military at the end of this year or early next year (I am going into the Navy’s BUD/S program if anyone cares), and I do not want to get rid of my truck.

What can I do to keep it in decent shape while I am away during boot camp? I’ve heard battery maintainers work pretty well, and I will have several points of leave a year so I can replace fluids as need be, as well as having my sister/brother-in-law take it out on drives every once in awhile. Would this be enough to keep this Tundra living, or is there anything else I can do to keep it as up to snuff as I possibly can?

Thanks!

Fluids, fluids, fluids.

when a part fails or is damaged, replace it.

If any rubber is cracked or rotted, replace it.

When you do an oil change or something check stuff out and look it over. Preventative maintenance is the best maintenance.

Maintaining lubrication is almost everything for the longevity of the ICE.  Thank you very much in advance for your service to our country.
