Hello all,
I recently purchased a 2004 Lincoln Town Car with only 4500 (not 45,000, but 4,500!) miles on the odometer. The car is in virtually like-new condition inside, outside and underneath. Zero rust. It was a Florida car so has some dried out rubber. My question is in regard to fluids. I immediately changed the oil once I took possession of it. Do I need to worry about brake, transmission, diff, power steering fluids? The levels are all good, but do they need to be changed? How about coolant? I know it's not expensive in the grand scheme of things, but am I risking damage by running on the existing fluids?
Thank you all in advance and Merry Christmas!!
I would change the coolant and leave the others.
How did you find that amazing deal?!?
Hi Kaizen, I watched and waited for over a year. I was really just looking for a vehicle with under @ 40,000 miles, but the morning the ad for that vehicle appeared, I called and placed a deposit on it immediately. Did I get an amazing deal? I'm not sure, but I paid about 1/3 the original retail price and given it's almost a brand new vehicle, I was happy. It was far less than virtually any new vehicle I could buy today.
Thanks to the rest of you for your responses. I'll get on changing that coolant out ASAP. Merry Christmas, all!
Agree. Coolant 👍 👍
Maybe brake fluid next since it can condensate over time.
Hello!
You will have to drive conservatively at the beginning so the engine gets habituated and then slowly strain it if you have led foot and like to drive fast.
Good luck with it!
