Greetings Scotty. In the country where I live its very complicated to get the mass airflow sensor cleaning spray. Can I use a good electronic contact cleaning spray instead? I have a japanese 2006 mitsubishi sport, V6 3.0 liter engine, 200,000 kms on it.
kind regards.

There's two things to consider about using an alternative to MAF Sensor Cleaner.

First: Will it damage the sensor.

Second. Will it leave a residue which will affect the operation of the sensor.

If you can't get MAF Sensor Cleaner then get a clean spray bottle and put some  isopropyl alcohol ((rubbing alcohol)) in it and spray the sensor until it's clean

The  isopropyl alcohol won't damage the sensor and it won't leave a residue.

Unfortunately IPA won't touch a lot of gummy residues

the electronic cleaner I have, yes I would use because I know it's safe.  However, there are switch cleaners out there that are designed to leave a lubricating film .. that would be bad. Spray your cleaner on a spotless piece of glass and wait for it to evaporate. See if anything is left behind. Also be careful as it's quite a strong solvent and can dissolve some plastics you find under the hood.
