My 2010 Mazda 3 has the AT light on and jerks from park to drive. Also has low acceleration in drive. Is this a “replace” or “repair” the transmission issue? It has 163000 miles on it. If replace, is it worth more than the car?
Connect a scanner and read transmission codes to know what the car's complaining about.
Post the codes on this thread so that I'll know how to assist.
If it's a 5 speed and it's a P0960, Just replace the variable solenoid - typical for Fords/Mazdas of the time (same car)
If you have reverse and no whining, it probably has some life left in it - but obviously don't drive with the transmission not fully operational, if it's a brake band or something you can make it significantly worse.
I wouldn't invest in it too much if you can afford an upgrade to a late production 10th gen Corolla, 11th generation Corolla L, or (probably the most expensive out of these) a Mazda3 made after 2015 before 2019 (that's when they finally split from ford and figured out the issues with the automatics, but didn't have electrical issues yet)
