Thoughts on the AWD 2021 Mazda 3 Hatchback? Is it worth it for the Turbo? I live in Chicago so want the AWD. Mainly using for driving back and forth to work, and occasional trip on the highway. Just not sure how different the turbo makes the ride. Thank you.
The turbo allows for better gas mileage and a more "spirited" drive so to speak lol. I honestly don't know whether it is a good car or not because it's still new. Mazda's newer cars have been very reliable from what I've seen and read about, probably because Mazda and Toyota have a partnership going on. But it's your choice on whether you want the turbocharged option or not.
But in my opinion, I definitely think Mazda made this car to make the old-school Mazdaspeed 3 fans happy ever since they discontinued the Mazdaspeed lineup.
They can be good cars but I'd look for a non-turbo if you can they tend to have less issues.
Mazda's are very reliable. The turbo motor available in the Mazda 3 is not a new motor, they have been used is several Mazda's since about 2016. At this point this turbo engine has shown to be very reliable, I would not worry about it
The turbo gets worse gas mileage not better, not sure why previous poster is saying Turbo gets better milleage, that's false.
If you want to be able to go faster and be able accelerate quickly out of potential traffic incidents, get the turbo, if you dont mind going dog slow, get the regular. I would get the turbo.
The blind spots on that car are pretty horrendous due to very large C pillar.
