Scotty,
My 2013 F150, 5.0L truck - which has 100,500 miles - wouldn't start the other day {black}:afraid: . I noticed that the fuel pump wasn't initiating when I turned the key on. I deduced that the fuel pump fuse had failed but wasn't burnt. The fuse was slightly melted {black}:idontknow: and wasn't making contact. I inspected the fuse socket and replaced the 20A fuse; the truck runs as it should {black} . Is this type of fuse failure common; is it an indication of some other, more serious, underlying problem? Is there something that I can do to prevent this from happening again in the future?
Thanks in advance {blackemo} ,
CK
general it's a sign that the pump itself is wearing out drawing too much amperage any good mechanic and check the amp drawing if it's too high replace the pump
