Milk white coolant

What's good everyone? 2001 Honda Civic LX 5-Speed a lil over 166K miles. I open my radiator cap every morning to ensure I can see coolant however it was this morning I noticed the coolant was milk white. I took a cotton swab and swished it around and looked like milk. My thought is it has to do with the Head Gasket I could be wrong. There are no leaks anywhere nor is there any overheating or performance issues but I'm currently wondering why my coolant is white.... I did drain the radiator then refilled with fresh coolant but then here came the white coolant mixing with the fresh. What does everyone think about the color should I be concerned oooorrrrr......

Your guess is correct. You can also try the head gasket test kit.

That junk cray

Did you use the same type of coolant when refilling?

I did indeed I use the premixed Peak

hopefully it's just air mixed in or residue. Otherwise you could have a failed head gasket.

I will say there did come a time I used tap water in the cooling system for 3 weeks a month ago

that shouldn't hurt anything as long as the engine didn't freeze

Classic signs of a blown head gasket.  When you drive down the road and you start putting out as much white smoke as a Mosquito Abatement Truck, you know you're done.

True I will say oil on the dipstick still remains its normal color

Sounds like it probably is a blown headgasket. You should pull the oil dipstick and see if the oil also looks milk white.

It's normal color

Tap water in a cooling system is a severe NO NO.  If you don't use pre-mix, use antifreeze and distilled water.

I use Peak premixed
