I know it’s hard and not really define, it’s more of a fun discussion. If you want to present a list that’s fine. Remember this is a discussion. Not a war.

Toyota is the most Reliable Hands down.
-
Chrysler and Dodge are the crappiest.
-
GM is kinda crap (sort of)

Hi @cargeek-luis
I need to ask you to put your answer down below in the section where it says "Your Answer". Thank you and welcome to the forum.

You mean which auto manufacturer produces the most reliable cars? It varies model to model, but overall I think most people will agree that the Japanese make pretty reliable cars, but that has been changing too.

American domestics (GM, Ford but not Chrysler) make pretty solid platforms too. Cosmetically, GM fit and finish has gone down the crapper, and both Ford + GM suffer all kinds of electronic issues.

Every manufacturer has its blunders though, and Toyota/Honda are no exception.

I agree and yes you hit the nail on the head I agree it varies to models. For instance a manufacturer would but more work and effort into making a capable/dependable heavy duty truck to satisfy the needs of the customer. Where the eco box would literally be that. Cheap made but good mpg to get you to point A and B! 🙂

1. Lexus

2. Porsche

Only talking brand new here. You'd be surprised how well Porsche makes their cars.

Yep, the first Porsche I drove was the first time I called a car "A Machine"! Talk about tight/quality tolerances, I don't have experience with anything better (regarding assembly tolerance adherence/consistency). The issue is complexity, more parts and amount of power for the engine size. So I'd take a new 9 series any day... if I played as much as I used too that is ; )

cars with the VIN starting with "J" 😣

94 celica?

i would buy juan 😆

I know a dude who still drives a 87 Accord that thing is awesome lol

1

1. Toyota ( in the last 20 years declinign quality)

2.Honda (stable engineering)

3. Mazda (quality and dependability skyrocketing in the last 7-10 years)

4. Subaru (good cars as long as engine isn't strained and manuel transmissions are bulletrpootf)
Kia/Hyundai/NIssan (all are pretty reliable untill 100k miles and then fall apart)

I would love to see Mazda one day be an extreme competitor to Toyota on the famous ‘Toyota reliability’ spectrum I think that would be neat.

Having worked with Japanese companies on product development projects, they are what I call "the most COMMITTED" to making a high quality and reliable product. They, like all others with 1st out new designs, have there issues HOWEVER they are the most DEDICATED to resolving found issues for future manufacture and design. They never try to "defend" a found issue. They will assemble a "Team" to work on issues to develop "Counter measures" and find root cause.

That’s cool. What do you do for work? And what about the other companies?

Chinese cars that have no place here in america, some of that technology is just insane nowadays. They stole so many blueprints and raw copies of cars from here and elsewhere, while there are a million knock off companies there, there are a dozen more who improve the design and those exclusively only go to the commies. China has it's new hot swappable battery cell car called the NIO ES8, it's pretty cool. The Chinese also took the FISK failed car and fixed it up. Not to mention that the Geely Cooperation is massive. In terms of reliable why there is not much info here about em, my cousins tell me that their cars chinese made are more or less comparable to toyotas here.

mind the language please

That’s why Geely has Volvo it’s kind like their puppet in America. I wouldn’t go as far as saying Toyota level. IMO

Yeah. 2010-2015 Volvo's are very reliable here, but then the chinese technology came and they started supercharging 4 cylinders and putting 8 speeds. Im not sure how reliable those would be but on craigslist you can find xc70's all day long with 200k miles.

@Rockstarnick I ment like over in china. From how my cousins describe it, They tend to bin cars like how AMD and Nvidia bin graphics cards lol, I ment that the Chinese get the best ones and the ight ones are the ones imported here

best econ car pre 2017 toyota with 6 speed auto

pre 2016 honda crv with 2.4l engine

best to get a mass produced car for parts availability

*pre 2015

The 2015 CRV had the new CVT and was troublesome. The 2012-2014 2.4, and the 2017-2018 2.4 are the best.

Lexus or Toyota!!

I don’t trust CVTs with my life and I’m not even a mechanic by any means

2017 to present are the 1.5l is it diff in europe or soemthing

2017-2018 LX trim has 2.4 Naturally Aspirated in USA, the 1.5T is the other trims.

Yeah here theyrr all same powertrain from 2017-

Anything that is not an FCA or GM product should do 100k miles easily if taken care of.

1

As far as I am aware every japanese brand should do 100k quite easily, some can go on to 2 3 400k miles! Ford also an excellent car: the Ford Fusion. But Ford ruined their reputation with the ecoboost engines;( I would go Asian. If going European, the best one is Volvo.

1) Honda or Toyota.
2) Subaru or Mazda.
...

X) Every other car manufacturer.

Yep. I would say after this comes
KIa then Hyundai then Nissan because they hardly can last after 120k miles.

I like Mazda and Honda, I’ve never been a big fan of Subaru. Boxer engines and what not. I learned to drive on a early 2000s Outback and I hated it. Made driving everything else a lot more fun lol

yeah. I also like the overall car you get from a modern 2017 2018+ Mazda and Honda. Toyota's are the most reliable brand, but probably the 3rd brand when it comes to quality. I mean, just look at the Corolla. They messed up in 2009, made a cheap car 2010-2013, had eelctronic issues 2014, and had tranmsmission issues 2019. Also, they are cheapy made. I mean look at the 2006 Camry interior then a 2011 Camry the difference is astonishing.

I have a 4Runner and I love it a great vehicle! Nothing else in their line up interest me. The design in Toyota lineup is bad. Like look at Mazda’s the CX5 and the sedans look amazing and they ride amazing I would put them on a like a Lexus/Acura level. ON A MAZDA

man EXACTLY. Im more of a Honda Mazda dude my family has a Kia and Honda and the old Corolla we had was junk to be honest it wouldn't start would stall the engine all the time. The only Toyota I would buy is the 2005-2006 Camry XLE v6 and nothing else interests me.
