Me and my friend change the clutch pad on this 1985 Toyota MR2. After that it has problem that we can’t figure it out. The symptom with this MR2 is that has noisy when idle. We did research about it and think it is because misfire. However, it doesn’t show the engine light on.
Here is the video -
You should be able to tell which (if any) cylinders are misfiring by the spark plugs, and if the mixture is rich or lean ( find an old guy to look at them, or post a pic here).
How fresh are things like the air filter, the throttle body? Fresh gasoline is always a big deal in these days of ethanol gas, which deteriorates pretty quickly. And 35 yo cars don't go through regular tanks of gas, usually.
Have you ever done a wet/dry compression test to see if you have a valve or ring problem?
Thanks Glen! I will do the test as you said.
