Hey scotty, love the videos. I took your advice and i drive a 2002 lexas es300, it's been a great car ran pretty good since I bought it 3 years ago for $3000. I always try and put premium gas in it either 91 or 94 obtain regular oil changes every 4000km. Recently it started missfireing from bank 1,3,5 which are located near the fire wall. I changed all the plugs, and coils and gaskets related to the issue. Unfortunately this did not resolve my issue. When I drive it fast its fine but at stops the check engine light starts flashing again. Not too sure what to do. I did however change the brand of oil which u bought from Costco to save some money still 5w30 fully synthetic. What should I do as money's become tight. Thank you and keep up the good work

so all the misfires are one bank. could a bad intake or head gasket. smoke test for vacuum leaks, and check cylinder compression.

if it's an overhead cam engine, it could be timing related too. Yes that means VVT. Someone with a good diagnostic scanner who knows what they're doing should be able to diagnose it.

Update, it was the VVT solinoid, changed one to see and it ran good, so I change the other one aswell

how much do they cost?

Hey scotty, also do you think that it could be caused by the vvt solenoid? The cars been slow and sluggish since I bought it could this be why it's missfireing?

The answer is yes, a bad VVT solenoid can cause misfires.

A car can be slow and sluggish because the engine is misfiring. Check out the FAQs under 'Maintenance" and you'll find a lot of information about engine misfires, including 'what' causes them.

Meant 'Troubleshooting' not 'Maintenance'
