Hi Scotty or anyone one is ready I don’t know what to do I had a 2017 Hyundai hyundai accent that went through oil like crazy I did not think much of it but then it got totaled and I turned around and bought a 2011 Hyundai Tucson gls thinking it was going to be better I bought it in July and drove it for one month then I was on the highway with some friends and the check engine light came on the car Cut out then oil started pouring out of the engine then the oil light came on then I looked under the front of the car and saw a piston drop from the engine I got it back from the dealership a month ago and drove it for a week because the check engine light came back on and the service advisor said it’s the timing valve and chain after they rebuilt the engine and I don’t know what to do I’m still paying for it and haven driven it in months what should I do

They rebuilt your same engine that blew up?! It's not a replacement engine?! And they clearly didn't do a good job rebuilding it if that was the case.

Start off with deciding never to buy another Hyundai/Kia product again.

Didn’t they give you any warranty after they rebuilt the engine? Sounds like a bunch of clueless crooks.

I would take the car back to the dealer. They definitely did a lousy job and no matter if you have a warranty or not, they should fix it for free, because they didn’t fix it correctly at the first place.

Have a dealer fix it because a. you have a warranty and they need to fix it or b. they screwed it up while rebuilding. I would go as far as I could legally to not deal with that garbage Hyundai engine.

Second of all, decide to never buy a Hyundai. EVER!

What is the quote from the dealer to repair the timing valve and chain ?

It’s free

So they will cover it under warranty?

Hyundais are basically a cheaper option to Toyota/Honda.

Since you already have the tucson, take it to a good independent shop dont pay the dealership overhead... depends how up it will cost, just watch oil level and top off as needed

Ok this tells me that you made a mistake your 2017 Hyundai had engine issues so why buy a 2011? I have a 2009 Tucson perfectly reliable after 2010 they were absolute garbage. I feel bad for you on that one but stop buying korean vehicles.
