I wanna start off by saying I truly love what Scotty is doing for all people who want to learn about cars.
My question is about my mothers jeep compass 2014: when you give it gas it will jerk and hesitate.
It has 50,000 miles on it.
Shouldn’t she get rid of it? This car isn’t going to last.
I understand it’s hard for you to make a judgment call without analyzing the vehicle.
I just want her to sell it but she doesn’t want another car payment.
We can’t find a trustworthy mechanic to analyze it.
Your thoughts in general about this vehicle?

Did you change the transmission fluid? Is this transmission an automatic, manual or CVT?
Automatic, no transmission oil change. Not CVT
I would change the transmission fluid now and see what happens next.
