Hey, Scotty! I have a 2007 Pontiac G6 GT with a 3.9 V6 and a 6 speed. Are there any common issues I should look out for or any little tips you could throw my way? I’ve had the car for about three years now and I’ve come to find out that it’s extremely difficult and expensive to find parts for it. Thanks!

The 6 speed has been known to not be as reliable as the 4 speed automatics, they are sealed transmissions which sucks if you wanna do a fluid change yourself. The electronic steering racks in those have recalls and could go out in them, I have one of the strerring racks myself(different gm car). The 3.9 engine won't be as reliable as the 3.8 v6 around that time because sometimes it had oil sludge issues. Those are major repairs and then you may have little interior rattles and stuff like that. You can change your oil more frequently for the engine, change you tranny fluid more frequently, and for the steering rack just pray that it doesn't go out, because you may be able to get it repaired but it's scary if it goes out because you can't steer and just have to stop.

The GM 3.9 V6 is not a bad engine. It's no Buick 3800 but it's a considerable engine. The transmission is meh. You want to baby that transmission. Change the oil every 5k miles, the transmission fluid every 30k miles. Do not drive like a maniac.
