Toyota Camry 1998 le 4cyl
made in Japan
Recent work done was put new ngk iridium spark plugs fuel pump and cleaned throttle body
111122 miles
now it runs smooth but I started hearing a sound louder than normal. It does sound distinctly like a dog whistle. “hum” or “ringing” could be described I took it to mechanics but they said nothing to worry about however I don’t trust that and I just want some good advice
When does this sound occur? While idling or while driving or both?
I can’t tell when driving because of outside noise, but at idle it is apparent. I can’t hear the noise in the cabin with windows up. But say I walk 3 feet from it makes a sound I’ll post a video of the sound now for reference

There are some basic info about noises

If it does help I can hear the pitch change when I roll down my windows
Did that start after replecing fuel pump? Did you replace fuel filter too? Is the pump OEM?

I haven’t I’ll will and see if the noise has changed and no it’s not an OEM part
And yes it did start after changing the fuel pump
Then I suspect the pump. If properly installed and runs ok and fuel filter is changed, I think it is louder because it is aftermarket one and thus cheaper made than OEM.
