Hi Scotty!
I'm very grateful for your YouTube videos. As a 61 year old female who likes to try to do things on my own, you have helped me tremendously!
In 2021 I wanted to buy a reliable used car for myself. (I didn't drive much at the time and still don't). I started watching some of your videos and decided to buy a 2001 Lexus ES300 Coach Edition from a little ole grandma. I felt very confident in my purchase after hearing all your reviews about this car. She was the original owner and it had 38K miles on it, I paid 8K. I purchased the car in Jan. 2022.
I, personally, replaced the break pads and rotors, cabin air filter, (that was a pain!), battery, and some kind of ballast because the headlights never worked on low-beam only on high-beam. A few months ago a check engine light appeared, (ironically about a week after I had the oil and filter changed). A diagnostics at AutoZone said it's some type of O2 Sensor or something. I haven't fixed that, yet. I probably only drive about 50-100 miles a month, or less. I don't have any sort of tools to do much on my own anymore since I left 95% of everything in CA.
In April, 2024 my daughter and her family moved from The Hermitage to Sango. In May 2024 I drove "Lexi" all the way from CA with no problems at all. She now has about 41K miles on her. I moved from CA to Sango to live and be near my kids.
We don't have a mechanic or really know anyone in Sango/Clarksville, yet. My son-in-Law always just takes every problem to the mechanic, but has had all NEW cars in the past several years. So again, we don't know anyone in Sango.
Any who, yesterday, I was going out to the market and ...
1). belt was squeaking pretty obviously, and upon opening the hood
2). I saw a little bit of smoke and there was an obvious burning odor, kinda like burning rubber?
3). The smoke was coming from the passenger side towards the cabin wall.
4). The belt looks in good shape too but I have never replaced it, so it could be original.
5). The oil looks clean and level looks good. I've never noticed any type of fluids leaking.
I'm just hoping you could give me a few recommendations for mechanics in the Sango area. I live off Madison /Alt 41 around Old Farmers Rd / Excell Rd.
With Gratitude!
Cindy Smith-Berman

Unless that was a typo, you will have to bring your car to him. Best of luck to you and we hope to see your car on the channel!
@scottykilmer & bobthehatking, thanks for the heads up.
I'm happy to meet with him. I have emailed a few times but have not heard from him. Hoping my emails weren't lost in his spam folder. 😅
I'm sure he's been busy what with Christmas coming and all.
Patiently waiting,
