I have a 1999 Toyota solara with 134,000 miles. Check engine light came on again I'm getting codes p0302, p0125, p0440, p1133, p1135, and p1153. What I have done the last time the cel came on it did give me a couple codes for the a/f sensor1 bank1, which I replaced. As well as replaced fuel cap and fixed broken vacuum line, had the evap code at that time, and added coolant because it was low and there was a coolant code then as well. What I have done at this time is check all the vacuum lines again, no cracks, brakes, or disconnected, checked all the fuses and relays, swapped coils between 2 and 4. Waiting to see if misfire code changes. Coolant is good. I'm wandering if these codes are related to one thing or something else. The car runs fine for the most part. One it is warmed up, in drive, and at idle, it is a little rough. I believe that is because of the misfire, maybe. I did have freeze frame data for the misfire, now I can't find it. I used my blue drive scan tool. It did show that on the short term fuel was at 4% or so on bank 1 and 2. Long term was 0% on bank 1 and 2. Scratching my head at this point.
Did you check the frequently asked questions? (FAQ, at the top)
Yes.
ok well there's a an article about misfires and how to diagnose them. Try those things.
The misfire I wasn't worried about. That I was able to fix. That was the easiest thing to deal with. Its the codes the deal with the air/fuel sensors, coolant closed loop, and evap system that are giving me a headache.
ok can you provide the exact code definitions please?
P0125- insufficient coolant temperature for closed loop fuel control
P0440- evaporative emission control system
P1133- a/f sensor circuit response ( bank1 sensor 1)
P1135- a/f heater circuit malfunction (bank 1 sensor 1)
P1153- a/f sensor circuit response (bank 2 sensor 1)
So I believe I got it fixed. Replaced coil, a/f sensor, and thermostat. Everything is running fine for now. No codes are showing. I'm positive that the a/f sensor was causing most of the codes.
