Hello my good sirs and ladies,
my name is Marcel, my father just found out his car (2015 Mercedes ML 350 with 101000 miles) started having engine problems. The dealership told him it has an engine leak (warranty obviously JUST ended at the 6 year mark, and 100k miles…). We’re looking for a new used car for him to purchase, I’m thinking a 2015 Lexus SUV for its reliability. I’ve been watching videos on Scotty’s channel and could use some guidance. He’s looking to retire soon with a relatively decent car to take into his retirement.
Any advice would be welcome.
Thank you in advance
Which Lexus SUV-RX, LX or GX? Petrol/gasoline or hybrid?
Be sure to have a mechanic look it over-all of those vehicles will get pricy when repairs come in.
I would go with the Lexus RX350 (which has the V6) over the LX and GX, even though those are fairly reliable SUVs as well; however, since the LX and GX have V8s maintenance and repairs will be higher especially at higher mileages. I feel the Lexus RX350 with the V6 is a better compromise, assuming that vehicle is spacious enough and has the features he is looking for. If he wants luxury that will last the longest, go with Lexus (over Acura and Mazda).
2015 Lexus RX350 is the last year of that generation (and most refined as a result) with the 6-speed automatic transmission, so that’s a good choice for model year.
