New AWD car options

Hey Scotty, Im looking at buying a new car. I have a 2000 camaro that I daily & will become more of a toy soon, so I want something awd & a bit bigger. I drive 60 miles a day for work, all highway. The four cars ive been looking at are a 2019 SHO Tauros, 2019 Focus RS, 2.8L Diesel Colorado or a WRX. Im leaning away from ford & their eco boosts because I dont think theyre great engines. This leaves me to the Colorado or the WRX. I think the WRX will be more fun of a ride ( Id get a manual) but ive heard the 2.8L Duramax gets fantastic highway mpg. Both would be fun to modify later down the road. Any thoughts? And do you think any of these cars will last like my ole 3800? XD.

Thanks,

Nick, PA

Clarification: will you be towing or going on dirt roads (even off-roading)?

Mostly daily driving so neither. But will need the AWD for snow in the winter.

Get the WRX why not. You said you want the AWD, and it’s mostly used for highway driving. And the WRX should last a decent amount of time.

Of those two, I would go for the Subaru WRX.  With the Colorado/Canyon Diesel realize the rest of the vehicle with GM design and electronics (which is not their strong suit) can potentially give issues as it ages and racks up the miles well beyond 100,000 miles.

The WRX is ok, but I'd get either the Colorado or Canyon. He reviews a 2wd Canyon, but the 4x4 shouldn't be bad either.
