New Engine Tech - what do you think?

Scotty, I love your channel! Thank you for all the hard work and information sharing that you do. I have learned so much by watching your videos. My question is, have you heard of the new engine technology, the Omega 1 Engine from  Astron Aerospace? https://astronaerospace.com/ The engine weighs 35 lbs. and produces 160HP and 170 ft/lbs of torque. It idles at 1,000 RPM and redlines at 25,000 RPM. It can also be stacked together to double these numbers. Check it out and let me know, thank you.

I'd be wary of anything that is only a 3D render. Until they got a full test like longevity and maximum redline usage and all that at the very least. Then 3rd party to verify the claims. Liquid piston for example claims to have been in the works since 2003. They've only recently last year come up with a go-kart I believe? But no verification yet due to covid and other factors. It's cool to see new innovation, but I'm always wary of a cash grab. The model they got don't even show a flow test, so it's more or less throwing the idea out there.

To summarize, real life is different from calculations and models, they can only take you so far. especially for "a new revolutionary design."

I've seen a lot of "miracle engines" come and go over the decades. The only one that came to fruition was the Wankel rotary and that turned out to be a bust.

How much will this one cost to make and how long will it last? How much will it cost to repair when it breaks? What kind of gas mileage will it deliver? What do its power and torque curves look like?

Lots of crazy designs intended to replace conventional piston engines were flying around in the 1960s and 1970s. Here's one of the many that didn't make it.
