Hey Scotty,
I just bought a new 2023 Chevy Equinox, with a 1.6 turbo which is somewhat underpowered, but I'm not needing huge acceleration.
When I press the gas pedal, even lightly, the pedal has some vibration that I can feel. It's especially noticable before it shifts.
It's no worse at high speed, so I don't think it's a tire balance issue.
The dealer said it has no engine code, and I didn't find one either with my scanner, so they said without a code they won't even look at it, but it just doesn't feel right.
I can only feel the vibration on the pedal.
Any thoughts on what it could be?
Well do this go road test the new one at a dealer. Tell him you're thinking about buying one. Go with a different car so they won't see. You already have one. If it vibrates then obviously some kind of flaw the way they built the cars and they're not going to do anything about it. But if it doesn't vibrate then make a video of it with your phone and go back to wherever you bought the vehicle and say look. I wrote test another new one. It doesn't do this. Mine does fix it. There's so many things that can cause that from incorrect manufacturing of transmission, torque converter, all kinds of things
they said without a code they won't even look at it,
That's idiotic on their part. Pulling codes is just the bare beginning of the diagnostic process. What they're doing is using that as an excuse to stonewall you in the hopes you'll just go away. (Dealers hate warranty work since they don't make any money on it.)
