Hi Scotty,
ive been watching all your videos and you are the right guy to ask.
im piurchasing a new 2022 Hyundai Tuscon Hybrid. This would be my first Hybrid and my first GDI engine. I do not do my own maintenance on vehicles except wipers, air filters in engine and cabin.
my question is are gdi oil catch cans better in keeping the valves and engine cleaner? What I’ve seen online it seems simple, but before I invest in one. Would you recommend it?
I would not recommend any Hyundai vehicle, and especially not the Tucson. These are very poorly made vehicles.
And as doc says, why not buy a car that doesn't require mods straight off the lot to make it work properly?
So you're saying you are spending roughly $40,000 on a new car and you're asking whether you should add an oil catch can to help the engine run better? Why bother buying a new car at all if you think you need to add something to a GDI system that screws up your car to begin with? It's a Hyundai. Seriously?
Honestly, and correct me if I am wrong. But I think that the Smartstream engines in the new Hyundais and Kias have the dual system where it is GDI and regular port fuel injection.
