Scotty I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee I am ready to replace it’s starting to nickel and dime me to death.  It’s been a great car we were the third owners and put 70k trouble free miles on it out of the 170k it has on it.

Jeep has a grand Cherokee now that has a 3rd row seating option and I’d love to get another grand Cherokee with the 3rd row.

what are your thoughts on the Jeep Grand Cherokee L junk or worth my time?  I typically keep my cars for a long time.

thanks in advance

Well, it's a redesigned vehicle and the new Jeeps are not as well made as they used to be. I would never buy one but if you want one, lease it.

I agree with infiniti on leasing.
My wife has a 2013 GC, which would have been a disaster had we not gotten a lifetime, unlimited mile warranty (although as long as they keep fixing it, we are at 150k and going for 200k).

Leasing is a good idea in this overpriced market anyway. You can always buy it out at term if you like it, and if it has trouble you can give it back.

Anything newer made by Jeep is a rolling pile of junk.

Kind of. The powertrains in the GC are average to above average (especially the 5.7) and the interiors are very nice. But anything electrical is a potentially problem.
